Jiovanna is a Civil Engineer-in-Training, she assists with projects ranging from stormwater design to wetlands and creek restoration. She spends time reviewing necessary standards and technical documents, performing calculations, and H&H modeling in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and more. Jiovanna is looking forward to more fieldwork, including surveying, site reconnaissance, and winter streamflow monitoring. When she’s not at work, you can find her taking her cat out for his daily walk, looking for mushrooms in the forest (to photograph), and/or enjoying some live music.

The best part of my job is the challenge and reward that comes from solving problems that contribute to bettering public safety and the environment.

I love how welcoming, friendly, and laid back everyone is. You can tell everyone cares about their work and effortlessly creates an uplifting, positive environment. It’s nice to be part of a team that shares the same passion to do meaningful work.

I grew up drinking water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta watershed, so I guess I owe my life to that one.
