Jiovanna is a Civil Engineer-in-Training who works on projects ranging from stormwater design to wetlands and creek restoration. She also reviews standards and technical documents, performs calculations, and conducts hydrologic and hydraulic modeling in HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and more. Her fieldwork includes surveying, site reconnaissance, and winter streamflow monitoring. When she’s not at work, Jiovanna enjoys taking her cat out for his daily walk, looking for mushrooms in the forest (to photograph), and listening to live music.

The best part of my job is the challenge and reward that comes from solving problems that contribute to bettering public safety and the environment.

I grew up drinking water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta watershed, so I guess I owe my life to that one.
