Johnny comes to Balance with experience in construction management, design implementation, and groundwater remediation. He has an academic background in hydrology and hydraulics, water chemistry, and earth system science. Johnny supports a wide-variety of projects including one- and two- dimensional modeling of riverine systems and channel hydraulics for FEMA floodplain mapping, dam break simulations, master planning, design feasibility assessments, CEQA analyses, and stormwater management. Johnny participates in Balance’s broad array of field activities including measuring of streamflow and other hydrologic monitoring, installation and maintenance of hydrologic monitoring equipment, surveying, and post-restoration monitoring. When not in the office Johnny spends his time with a nose in a history book or trying (unsuccessfully) to beat traffic to the Sierra on the weekend.

It is insanely refreshing to work for a firm that consults the genius of the natural environment when designing and implementing projects.

Reading, skiing, and cycling.

My favorite book is "Yukon Ho!" by Bill Watterson.
